Project: Book Cover

A Self-Help Guide to Staying Connected

This project began as a scratchboard illustration exploring the psychological tension of mobile addictionwhere the boundary between user and device begins to dissolve. The hand-rendered image captures a fragmented identity, merging human presence with embedded digital systems, suggesting a quiet loss of autonomy within contemporary technological life.

Building on this foundation, the illustration was translated into a satirical self-help book cover titled Everything is Working as Intended. The concept reframes optimization culture and digital dependency through dark humor, presenting a fictional guide that appears reassuring on the surface while subtly revealing the unsettling consequences of constant connectivity. The design system extends across front, spine, and back cover, using restrained typography and stark contrast to reinforce themes of control, illusion, and manufactured stability.
